Equine Assisted Learning

Self and Interpersonal Skill Development

This HIPAA compliant program is designed to develop and advance self and interpersonal skills such as:

  • Nonverbal communication

  • Empathy

  • Self-care

  • Improving personal and professional relationships

  • Self confidence

  • Dealing with difficult people

  • Negotiation and partnering

  • Balance and Movement

  • Social Interaction (Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Disorders, Social Anxiety)

Kindle Hill Foundation’s proprietary Equine Assisted Learning program is a personal growth and development series for individuals and families, including children as young as 7. Sessions are held between the client(s) and a Master’s in Counseling candidate or principal; and may include one or more horses.

Participants soon learn that they can't "force" a 1000-pound animal of prey to do something it does not want to do, so they must cultivate other effective means of persuasion and communication. As the curriculum challenges become more complex, clients use their new skills and enhanced self-confidence to "connect" with the horses in collaborative real time experiences.  Our participants have also shared that they’ve experienced relief from depression and anxiety after working with horses.

The Equine Experience – “Hands on Horses”

Looking for a way to have fun, alleviate stress, connect with yourself, and interact with family and friends?

Boost your mood with our “Hands on Horses” program!

This non-riding experience is a fresh, interactive way for you (or with a small group) to explore the world of horses.

  • How do horses think?

  • How do horses see, smell, hear, and move?

  • What can they teach us about herd behavior?

  • What's it like to feel their muscles through their smooth coats?

You will begin with horse observation and approach, and graduate to grooming, leading, and even guiding your equine partner through an obstacle course! “Hands on Horses” is a safe way to learn about horses, their care, and perhaps something new about yourself!

In addition to learning all about your new equine friends, these special creatures will soothe your soul and lower your stress levels. You'll learn new techniques in breathing for relaxation, and a better understanding of how to manage your day-to-day emotions.

Horses are amazing creatures. If you want to try something new and different with a horse as your partner, our “Hands on Horses” could be the ideal experience for you.

If you are managing a company, or employed by one, you know the importance of teamwork and effective communication.

But how can you practice this with health safety in mind? The solution is simple! Equine assisted learning is an open air activity!

We can accommodate individuals and groups as large as 12-15, in our corporate coaching curriculum, which can be modified to specifically suit your organization’s goals. It's a great way to learn more about your colleagues and explore how to be a more effective co-worker and leader, while having fun!
